The mark of the hand-over
The Absolute pin is the same one the whole family uses. Inside it are two facing arrows: a thing goes to a person, and then back again.
Facing arrows
- Two horizontals with facing barbs: one hand-over, seen from both sides; the mark matches itself when rotated.
- The only mark in the family built from horizontals: at 16 px it reads as “=” with two serifs and isn’t confused with the AbsoLive chevron or AbsoSchool’s two chevrons.
- A 3.2 stroke with round caps — like the AbsoLive chevron.
- Without the pin, the mark looks like the system “swap” icon, so it always sits in the pin and next to the word.
Olive
No free light, bright color is left under the family rule: Olive is a mid-lightness tone that passes the rule in full. The color of gear, wood and craft. The table below is computed on every build with the same code as the sister projects use.

The family threshold is 20 for normal vision and 10 for protanopia and deuteranopia. Where the difference is smaller, shape closes the gap: AbsoTeam has the person, the map’s levels have activity markers, Olive has the facing arrows — and there is always a word alongside.
Wordmark
abs[pin]market — the pin in place of the “o”. In the header the tail changes for a moment: market ↔ lute, and it reads absolute — the market and the community it is part of.
Name
Market — from the Latin mercatus; in English the word first meant a meeting of people at an appointed hour — to exchange what they had — and only later the square. So it is here: a market is a meeting, the gear is the reason. The words “flea market”, “merchandise” and “haggling” don’t live in the market’s texts.
Voice
- Plain “you”, short, with verbs.
- Strength and abundance: there are more things around than it seems.
- No “!”, no slang, no promises that aren’t real.
- No past tense addressed to the reader and no words that reveal gender.
A market is a meeting. The gear is the reason.
